A massive weekend of trail building
A massive thanks to the 27 individual volunteers who gave up their weekend to build Lysty.
WE MOVED OVER 39 TONNES OF DIRT.
We had 2 days of building totalling over 186 hours of volunteer time in total.
Please note - this doesn't include the hours taking deliveries, the paper work or the preparing of the trails prior.
STATE MOUNTAIN BIKE COURSE:
On Saturday we tackled the State Mountain Bike Course by adding a couple of features and rebuilding others.
Added a table top pre-planned since the rebuild was done.
Added a small gap jump (still rollable) prior to the table top.
Rebuilt some of the kickers on the doubles on the descent. - Cleared drains from top of the hill to the bottom of the berms.
Maintained the braking bumps before the berm section on the descent.
Added temporary signage to the top of trail to alert riders of changes.
On Sunday we tackled Dog Pound Trail; managing water flow along the whole trail to help improve the sustainability of the trail by minimising ruts occurring faster and silt increasing.
Added over 15 reverse grades drains from the top to bottom of the trail.
Rebuilt corners along the trail. - Blocked off b-lines.
Rebuilt some features along the trail. - Cleared drains along the whole trail.
Re-graded silty corners to manage water flow with the natural lay of the land.
To those who gave up their time - thank You, you guys are legends...Especially to Jim who attended both days, helped prepare the trail build trailer and pack it back up.
Cheers to Cale and Craig who helped tow the hire machine. Big thanks to Parks Vic for assisting us with being able to use machinery and with the funding.
